During the fall "Check Out Hunger" scanning campaign, Wegmans customers raised nearly $3.1 million for hunger relief at the company's 114 stores. This campaign, which ran from Oct. 22 to Nov. 29, allowed customers to donate any amount at checkout, with 100% of the proceeds going to each store's local Feeding America food bank partner.

The municipality is faced with the need for two plow trucks and a ladder fire truck, and dealing with increasing health insurance costs.
