Arthur William Johnson, 83, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away April 10, 2026, following a long illness. He was a dear husband, brother, uncle, father and friend. Prior to moving to Florida, Arthur served as a business teacher and coach at Niagara Wheatfield High School. His impact on youth sports in the Buffalo area was celebrated. His loss will be felt deeply.

Structure fire in Wheatfield

On March 5, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communication center received a 911 call reporting a fire inside of a garage at 2406 Niagara Road. All residents were able to safely evacuate the garage and residence prior to patrol's arrival. Personnel and equipment from multiple fire companies arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire.
