Chairman, Niagara Military Affairs Council
There may not be many issues everyone agrees on today, but here in Niagara County, the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS) is one of them.
NFARS is Niagara County’s largest employer, but its importance goes far beyond jobs. The men and women who serve there are our neighbors, friends and family members. They live in our communities, shop in our stores, send their children to our schools, and serve our country.
The Niagara Military Affairs Council (NIMAC) works to protect and strengthen the base. We are an apolitical organization. Our focus is simple: to advocate for the continued strength and viability of NFARS and to support the men and women who serve there.
That work includes supporting improvements to the runway and taxiway, advocating for new facilities, helping address lodging needs and working to bring future missions and federal jobs to Niagara County.
None of this happens without strong community support.
Our local governments, businesses, employers and residents all play a role. Employers support Guard and Reserve members when duty calls. Families make sacrifices. Local leaders help make sure Niagara County remains a good home for military members and their families.
As our country celebrates its 250th anniversary, it is worth remembering that military service is happening right here in our own community.
NFARS strengthens Niagara County, supports our economy and serves our nation.
Keeping it strong is something we can all support.
