Since 2014, the Town of Grand Island has received flowers from the Erie County Correctional Facility (ECCF) in Alden to beautify town-owned property. The horticulture program provides county inmates with an opportunity to learn new skills and spend time outdoors in the greenhouses.
All of the plants grown by inmates are donated to towns throughout Erie County for use on public property.
