Playing music at the Oct. 11 fireworks fundraiser, "Let's Band Together," are the members of the Johnson City Band, from left, Kathy Wrobel, Bob Savoy, Rachel Spector and Ken Johnson. The event was held at Moose Lodge No. 180, 2524 Grand Island Blvd. Organizer Mary Ehde said the fundraiser featured a dozen of the best musicians in Western New York, as well as axe-throwing, basketball, a bounce house and barbecue by Chuck Vacanti. The event raised $15,000, meeting the goal to fund fireworks at Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World at Fantasy Island, 2400 Grand Island Blvd. Ehde said more than 100 people attended the event.
