Niagara Falls High School Class of 1964 is having an 80th birthday party and reunion! It will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at the LaSalle Yacht Club on Buffalo Avenue, with dinner, mingling and music. On Friday, there will be a tour of the old NFHS building on Portage Road and Pine Avenue from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing for its meeting on Monday, Aug. 10. This board gathers following the Historic Preservation Commission's 6 p.m. convening (tentatively 6:30 p.m.).

A former social studies teacher on Grand Island, DeDario had never run for public office before putting his hat in the ring for the mayor's office this year - though he did serve as commadore for the Youngstown Yacht Club during the COVID-19 pandemic and the flooding in 2019, which was a challenge as well.

One of the Village of Lewiston's most unique properties is now for sale. Gary Hall is selling the former DeChantal Hall at 435 N. Second St. The almost 15,000-square-feet property was recently used as the headquarters for Waste Technology Services, a non-asset-based waste and by-product management company. Northstar Recycling Company LLC announced its acquisition of WTS last fall.
