Keane was joined by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Paul Catalano, chairman of Crime Stoppers WNY, to announce the district attorney's office will allocate asset forfeiture funding to support Crime Stoppers WNY by increasing the reward amount for anonymous tips that result in the seizure of illegal guns in Erie County.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, we were blessed with a surprise visit from the Education Foundation of the diocese and the Education Department. They came for a special visit to award our principal, Mrs. Lynn Ortiz, with the Distinguished Principal Award for the diocese, in a special assembly in which all our students, faculty, staff, Mrs. Ortiz, her family, and our parish staff were able to join in on this momentous presentation.

Former Deputy Erie County Clerk Alexander McDougall was sentenced Friday to 1 1/3 to 4 years in state prison and ordered to pay full restitution after pleading guilty to stealing over $320,000 in county funds, state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane and Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced.
