Town of Wheatfield shares lead-testing results; announces rate changes

At Monday's Town Board meeting, Wheatfield Water and Sewer Department head Mark Clark gave the Town of Wheatfield an update on the municipality's efforts to test for lead in water. The testing has been mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency following new changes in the lead and copper rule.

New Yorkers can now apply for home energy assistance

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced New Yorkers can now begin applying for heating assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program to help defray the high cost of heating their homes during the winter. The program, known as HEAP, can provide up to $996 to eligible households, depending on how they heat their home.
