The annual Risk tournament and raffle for Lockport New Beginnings is coming to the Casual Dragon Games on Saturday, April 5, starting at 10 a.m., with $6,000 in prizes to be raffled off and over $500 in prizes for the tournament final table. All proceeds will go to Lockport New Beginnings.

HOPE Day, the annual 24-hour match challenge day of giving, brought in a record total of $516,124 in support of Appeal 2025 to benefit Catholic Charities of Buffalo and the "Fund for the Faith." This total included $111,000 in matching funds from OneBridge Benefits, EnergyMark LLC, Tops Friendly Markets, Uniland Development Co., Catholic Health, Abbey Mecca and Independent Health. HOPE Day 2025 was held March 19.

Comprising more than a dozen paintings from the collections of the History Center and Charles Rand Penney, the artworks highlight local artists from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced an 18-year-old male from Buffalo was sentenced yesterday afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge Tiffany R. Perry to a one-year conditional discharge. As conditions of his sentence, the defendant must complete 60 hours of community service and continue with counseling.
