Niagara County Legislator Shawn Foti on Monday reminded residents the county has begun accepting reservations for picnic shelters in county parks for this summer - and reservations are filling up. The county operates five parks: Krull, Oppenheim, Royalton Ravine, West Canal Marina and Burmaster at Bond Lake.

Residents of Connect55+ communities came together in February for the annual Connect55+ can competition, a longstanding tradition organized by the Calamar Foundation to support local food banks and charities. This year, 22 communities participated, contributing an impressive 7,903 cans, all of which will be donated to 22 food banks and charities chosen by the residents in their local communities.

On Monday, Feb. 24, at 8:36 p.m., Deputy Pino observed a gray Chevrolet pickup truck on Upper Mountain Road in the Town of Cambria with an equipment violation. Pino also recognized the vehicle as being the suspect vehicle in several hit-and-run motor vehicle accidents in Lockport and Amherst.
