The 40th annual Lewiston Harvest & Hops Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28-29, along portions of Center Street in the Village of Lewiston. This popular event is hosted by the Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce and presented by Brickyard Brewing Company and Modern Disposal Services.

Final work on "The Lewiston Mural at Academy Park" has been completed, bringing the large summer art project to an exciting conclusion. Lewiston artists Maureen Kellick and Dan Buttery collaborated on the unique mural project that encompasses the building at the park's northeast corner, creating a dynamic visual welcome at the gateway to the village.

Amelia Faddoul was crowned Peach Queen on Sunday night at the close of the 66th annual Niagara County Peach Festival. The 20-year-old Niagara Falls resident is a Niagara University junior. With the win, she earns a $4,000 scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston.

The Grand Island Town Board, at its Sept. 3 meeting, issued a proclamation to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the National Association of Women Business Owners Buffalo Niagara (NAWBO), which will occur on Sept. 11. The proclamation was accepted by Laura Zimberg, immediate past president of NAWBO Buffalo Niagara.

The Grand Island Town Board, at its Aug. 26 meeting, voted to authorize Supervisor Peter Marston to sign an agreement with CPL, a company that will act as a consultant to the town, to review, study, analyze and, if warranted, make revisions to the town's comprehensive plan and zoning code, as outlined in Local Law No. 4 of 2024. The agreement is subject to the approval of the town attorney.
