On Friday morning, Ulrich Sign removed the Frontier House sign Lewiston residents have known and stared at since 1964. The black-letter-on-white-background marker was taken down - it was gifted to the Historical Association of Lewiston and Lewiston Museum - and a new sign, reading "Frontier House." was installed. This billboard more closely resembles the original sign placed on the building in 1824 - with white letters on a black background - and, yes, the period, too.

'Unplug and Play': Hochul announces $20 million in funding for new Municipal Parks and Recreation Grant program

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $20 million will be made available for a new Municipal Parks and Recreation (MPR) Grant program to fund the development and improvement of municipal parks and recreation sites statewide for the public to enjoy. Funding for this program is provided by the Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act.

On March 29 and 30, Old Fort Niagara presents a two-day block-printing workshop featuring Randy and Virginia Tucker of Louisville, Kentucky. Randy and Virginia are familiar faces at Old Fort Niagara as period merchants at the historic site's major events. They offer various textiles, but are best known for their attractive silk and cotton neck scarves.

The Niagara USA 250 committee has selected a logo for local celebrations of America's 250th birthday in 2026. The logo was designed by Edgepath, a Lockport-based graphic design firm. The image ties into the national America 250 logo, but includes local features such as Niagara Falls.
