Each Tuesday morning during the summer concert season, a dedicated group from Intandem's community-based prevocational program arrives at Veterans Memorial Community Park with trash bags in hand and a sense of purpose. Their mission: Help clean up litter left behind after "Music Mania Mondays," the Town of Niagara's popular weekly concert series that draws large crowds and lively energy to the park.

The Niagara County Legislature passed a resolution at their meeting Tuesday night opposed to National Grid's efforts to increase electric rates on its customers. The legislature called on Gov. Kathy Hochul to reject National Grid's plans, and filed comments opposed to the rate hike with the New York State Department of Public Service.

The new Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy (NCLEA) is officially open following a ribbon-cutting Tuesday at the new facility located on the campus of SUNY Niagara. The building is a partnership between the county, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office and SUNY Niagara, with funding for the $8.3 million project coming from both the county and state, along with a contribution from the City of Niagara Falls.
