On April 17, officers were involved in a high-speed vehicle pursuit. At the conclusion of the pursuit, as officers approached the vehicle, the vehicle began to drive toward the officers. One officer discharged their firearm, striking the driver of the vehicle. The driver was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Jastrzemski today said the Niagara County Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Lockport, Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda will have Saturday hours on April 12 and 26 for the limited purpose of processing driver's license transactions related to the implementation of REAL ID. The offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those dates, but you must be in line by 12:30 p.m. to have your transaction processed.
